Let’s Focus on Bridesmaid Dresses!
Past articles in our blogosphere have been fully focused on the upcoming prom scene of 2010. And while that’s all great and wonderful, we silently chided ourselves for not dedicating an entry about bridesmaid dresses. Bridesmaid dresses! Where do you start?! Where does it end?! While bestowing the title of bridesmaid to the special people in your life can bring a warm set of emotions, selecting a bridesmaid dress is bound to bring in a whole another set of emotions. This entry will attempt to ease off some of the pressure of selecting that right dress for all your girls.
The initial process of selecting a bridesmaid dress should ultimately be the bride’s decision, however make sure that the style and color you select will complement the girls in your party. Don’t feel pressured when you first begin the task of finding that perfect style. If you already have a color theme in mind for the wedding, try to see if you can find dresses that will complement the look and feel of the occasion. The above pictures (style N856, style N606) depict quite a contrast between bold vs soft. You can already envision what kind of look and feel will go along with each dress. The idea is to play with what colors describe your perfect wedding.
Aside from colors, how long or short should the dresses be? There really isn’t a right or wrong answer to this question. Long dresses are commonly associated with traditional, conservative type weddings, while short dresses bring a more contemporary edge. A nice trend among bridesmaid dresses is a wide sash that goes along with a solid short dress.

These short, knee length style dresses (S5044, D6021) come with a sash that gives more dimension to the look and feel of the bridesmaid party, as well as complementing any girl’s figure by slimming and accentuating the waist. They are equally as elegant and graceful as a long length bridesmaid dress. That’s not to say that full length dresses are out of style! The classic, timeless full length bridesmaid dress is a choice that can never be wrong.

Embroidery makes any dress look extra elegant. This simple, form fitting full length dress is classy and because of its a-line style, gives a subtle curvy look. Another great alternative is to look at two toned, full length dresses. It gives depth to the bridal party as well as slimming down and giving more curves to the bridesmaid’s figure.
Planning a wedding requires much deliberation and thoughtful consideration. Gather all the bridesmaids and upon hearing their ideas, absorb the information to come up with something that will satisfy everyone, but most importantly, that will make the bride happy.
